The South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) is opening up the doors to Adelaide Fire Station for a free community Open Day packed with fire trucks, live rescue demonstrations, emergency services displays and family-friendly activities.

Held on Saturday 14 November, immediately after the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant, the much-loved MFS Open Day will give visitors a rare chance to step behind the scenes at the state’s largest fire station and meet the people who help keep South Australians safe.

Visitors can meet firefighters, climb aboard fire trucks, explore specialist equipment and learn how emergency crews prepare for everything from house fires and road crashes to complex rescue operations.

Highlights will include a road crash rescue simulation by the MFS Road Awareness Program (RAP) team, and a simulated rope rescue by specialist rescue crews on the station’s training tower.

The MFS Adelaide Fire Station Open Day also highlights the teamwork behind emergency response, with partner agencies including the SA Country Fire Service (CFS), South Australia Police (SAPOL) and South Australian Ambulance Service (SAAS) joining the event.

For visitors who may need a quieter space, the dedicated Sunflower Way sensory area will provide a comfortable environment to take a break and enjoy the day at their own pace.

Whether it's your first visit or a family tradition, the MFS Adelaide Fire Station Open Day promises rescues, fire trucks and plenty of fun.
