Tess's story
“Don’t hold back! It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made”
Tess has been a firefighter with the MFS for two years, choosing a career where she could make a real impact in her community.
Tess was initially unsure if she fit the mould or had what it takes to become a firefighter, but seeing other women in the role gave her the confidence to go for it, and she hasn’t looked back.
Now in a hands-on, active job where no two days are the same, she thrives on the challenge and loves working alongside like-minded people.
Megan's story

Megan is a Firefighter with the MFS and a proud mum.
Previously a research scientist with eight years of tertiary study, Megan joined the MFS seeking a team-focused environment where she could continue to make a meaningful contribution.
Since joining the MFS, Megan has expanded her skills by becoming a qualified Communications Operator. She values the variety the role offers and the opportunity to continually grow while contributing to community safety.
