2020 MFS Schools Fire Safety Program and Competition
Thank you to all schools and students who participated in the 2020 MFS Schools Fire Safety Program and competition. The competition is now closed and judging is underway. Watch this page for the winning entries to be announced week commencing 23 November 2020.
Since 2002 the SA Metropolitan Fire Service has promoted the annual “Schools Fire Safety Program and Competition” to all South Australian Primary and Junior Primary schools. Over the years we’ve had thousands of fantastic responses from all over the state.
The Poster and Multimedia Competitions can be incorporated into the Australian Curriculum utilising General Capabilities – Literacy, Critical and Creative Thinking, Personal and Social Capability – across a range of Learning Areas, but in particular Health and Physical Education, Technologies, English, Languages and The Arts.
The choice of activity was determined by the Australian Curriculum links.

The competition closed on Friday 23 October 2020, and the MFS Fire Safety Program Poster and Multimedia Competition could be included in the curriculum in Term 3 or early in Term 4. The children were invited to enter with a simple poster, or they could be as adventurous as they like using the multi-media competition.
Winners will be notified and prizes will be distributed week commencing 23 November 2020.
Winning Poster competition entries will be displayed in MFS Fire Stations around the State and here on the MFS website.
We appreciate your support and we’re excited to see what this year’s competition brought.
