Community Event Visits

Community Event Visits
(We send a fire truck and crew to visit your community event)

After a very uncertain year the MFS is pleased to once again offer Community Event Visits to groups holding public events in the community.

To book a Community Event Visit please download the form below and once completed either email, post, fax or hand deliver it to us using the addresses listed in the form.

Due to the popularity of these activities, requests must be made at least five weeks in advance to ensure the best opportunity of securing a booking.

Conditions of MFS Community Event Visit:

  • All venues must offer MFS firefighters a COVIDSAfe Check-In and follow SA Health and SA Government CovidSAfe requirements.
  • The MFS offers Community Event Visits for pre-schools, schools, higher education facilities, charities and community groups. Other groups are considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • The visit will consist of a fire truck with crew attending and engaging with your community on the subject of fire safety in the home.
  • Each visit must have a minimum of 50 attendees.
  • Note groups can only participate in one visit by a fire crew and appliance per day.
  • Where the group is primarily children, it is a requirement that there are adults on hand to provide a supervisory role. Firefighters will not manage or supervise your children’s groups.
  • Community Event Visits run for approximately one hour in duration and are available subject to operational requirements.
  • Bookings can be taken for MFS attendance between 9.30 am and 2.00 pm excluding public holidays.
  • The vehicle must stand on hard surfaces - not grassed areas or ovals.
  • The crew and truck may be required to respond to emergencies at any time and must be able to exit the site freely at all times.
  • Fire trucks can be loud and intimidating so please ensure attendees with sensory conditions are prepared with carers and headphones etc., on hand. Call us to discuss any concerns ahead of your visit.
  • The fire truck is not accessible for those in wheelchairs or with significant mobility issues.
